Leave a Legacy
We are very grateful for the generosity of our donors who help to fund our projects and help more people have happier lives.
Leave a Legacy to help our work to live on
Losing someone you have loved can be a difficult experience, as can caring for someone with mental health issues – or living with a mental health issue yourself. By making an In Memory donation for a loved one, or leaving a gift in your Will, you can help us continue the work that we do to promote good mental health and improve the lives of those affected by mental health issues – now and in the future.
Donations in memory of someone
Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a way to remember someone special and help build a future for others. There are numerous ways that you can donate to us in memory of a loved one.
-
Perhaps the easiest way to make a donation or fundraise in memory of someone is through JustGiving. With JustGiving, you can create a dedicated page in memory of a loved one. JustGiving enables you to share stories, thoughts and photographs of your loved one and encourage others to donate to Mind in Brighton and Hove to support our work. The button will take you to a page on the the JustGiving website, which links through to our account.
-
The Funeral Director will organise in memory donations for you. They will collect donations either at the funeral service or people will send them cheques later. They then pass the donations to us and we will write to you telling you how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.
Please ask for cheques to be made payable to Mind in Brighton and Hove. If you are writing your Will and leaving instructions for your funeral, please consider asking your family and friends to make a donation to Mind in Brighton and Hove in lieu of flowers.

Remembering the person that has died and helping those affected by their death is at the heart of our service. Much Loved offer individual tribute pages as well as shared dedication pages, to allow you to choose how to honour your loved one in a way that feels right for you.
How to leave a gift in your Will
A gift in your Will, no matter how small, can make a lasting difference to someone experiencing mental health issues.
It is always best to seek professional advice from a solicitor if you are writing or updating your will. This ensures your wishes will be carried out. If your Will is straightforward it is often much cheaper than you might think and most solicitors will give you a quote over the phone
If you have already made a Will, you can still leave a gift to Mind in Brighton and Hove by adding a codicil to your existing Will. Again, we would recommend that you seek professional advice about this.
When leaving a legacy gift to us please give your solicitor the following information:
Charity name: Mind in Brighton and Hove
Registered charity number: 1071434
Address: 51 New England Street, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 4GQ
We understand that your Will is a private document. However, if you do leave us a legacy please consider letting us know about this as it helps our future planning. It also means we can express our thanks to you and discuss any wishes you may have about your legacy. We would treat any discussions confidentially.
