World Sleep Day - 14th March 2025

World Sleep Day is held on Friday, March 14, 2025.

This year the theme is Make Sleep Health a Priority. There's a close relationship between sleep and mental health. Everyone needs sleep, but many of us have problems getting enough and it can sometimes feel hard to know how or when to get help for such a common issue. Living with a mental health problem can affect how well you sleep and poor sleep can have a negative impact on your mental health.

National Mind has a guide to understanding sleep problems and how they can affect you along with suggestions on self-management and how to get help if you are struggling with your sleep. We are all different so a useful starting point is keeping a sleep diary to help you understand your personal sleep pattern. A free sleep diary can be downloaded here www.thesleepcharity.org.uk/information-support/adults/sleep-diary/. We are happy to post out a copy to you if you would prefer a paper copy.

If you would like to speak to someone from our Mental Health Advice Service about sleep or any other mental health issue please call on 01273 666950 or email info@mindcharity.co.uk
