What to do if you think there is a fire

  • Never attempt to tackle a fire yourself.

  • Keep calm and get everyone out of the property.

  • If there is smoke, keep low where the air is cleaner.

  • Close doors behind you to contain the fire and reduce damage.

  • If you are able call 999 as soon as you are safely out of the building

  • Never return for valuables or pets.

  • Get out, stay out and call 999

  • Even if it’s a false alarm, you have done the right thing by raising the alarm, it’s better to be SAFE than sorry.
